Chemical Peel Treatments

What is it a Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel is a special chemical solution applied to the skin for a short period of time, removing the outermost layer of the skin or deeper skin layers.
There are three basic types of the chemical peels: superficial, medium and deep. They differ with regard to the depth to which they penetrate the skin.

What are the Indications for Chemical Peels?
Chemical Peels provide a good solution for:

  • Skin Rejuvenation
  • Reduction of fine lines and small wrinkles
  • Reduction/removal of age spots
  • Reduction/removal of sun damage
  • Reduction of hyperpigmentation and melasma
  • Reduction of scars and acne scars

major benefits of chemical peel treatments:

  1. Improved Skin Texture: Removes dead skin cells and promote the growth of new, healthier skin cells. This leads to improved skin texture, making it smoother and more radiant.

  2. Reduced Fine Lines and Wrinkles: Look younger by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The process occurs by stimulating collagen production. Collagen is a protein that gives the skin its structure and elasticity, and its production naturally decreases with age.

  3. Lighten Hyperpigmentation: Chemical peels can help to lighten areas of hyperpigmentation, such as sunspots, age spots, and melasma. They do this by exfoliating the top layers of skin, where pigmentation irregularities often occur.

  4. Treat Acne: It can help to treat acne by exfoliating the skin and unclogging pores. They can also help to reduce the appearance of acne scars.

  5. Minimize Pores: Helps to minimize the appearance of large pores by removing dead skin cells and unclogging pores.

  6. Even Skin Tone:  By removing damaged skin cells and promoting the growth of new, healthy skin cells.

  7. Improved Product Absorption: By removing dead skin cells that can block the penetration of active ingredients chemical peels can improve the absorption of skincare products

  8. Boost Confidence: By improving the appearance of the skin, chemical peels can help to boost confidence and self-esteem.

How long does a chemical peel take to heal?

The healing time for a chemical peel can vary depending on the type of peel and the individual’s skin type and condition. Superficial peels, which only remove the outermost layer of skin, usually have a shorter healing time than deeper peels.

Generally, the healing time for a superficial chemical peel is around 1-7 days, during which the skin may appear red, dry, and flaky. It is important to protect the skin from the sun during this time and to avoid using any harsh skincare products.

Deeper peels can have a longer healing time, up to 14 days or more. During this time, the skin may experience more pronounced redness, swelling, and peeling. It is important to follow proper aftercare instructions and to avoid any activities that could irritate or damage the skin, such as swimming or using saunas.
