Perfect Peel

Chemical peeling is one of the most popular and effective aesthetics treatments, helping patients rejuvenate and improve the overall health and appearance of the dermis. However, not all chemical peels are created equally: from the “at-home”, single-active serum, to a medically-administered, medium-depth clinical peel, it can be unclear what sets an “ok” peel apart from an “incredible” peeling system. Chemical peels are generally classified as superficial, medium or deep, depending on the depth of penetration after application. A number of peeling agents are capable of achieving a range of penetration depths, depending on their percentage and method of application.

The Perfect Peel is a pioneer in the blended peel market, with a spectacular formula that works in synergy to maximise outcomes and minimise unwanted side-effects. The treatment uses a blend of chemicals to create a controlled wound to the skin. This initiates a process of peeling and healing, which in turn causes the skin to be visibly refreshed.

The perfect peel uses a combination of ingredients, including trichloroacetic acid (TCA), retinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, and a blend of vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C, E, A, Zinc, Kojic acid to brighten the skin and help reduce the hyperpigmentation and age spots.

Here’s what you need to know about the process:

Day 1 is the day the peel treatment was applied, the area will feel tight and may appear darker than usual. The peel solution needs to stay on the area for at least 6 hours- so no washing, touching or rubbing the skin! Also, do not apply any make-up, skincare, lotions, ointments or creams etc. You don’t want to do anything that will add moisture to the skin and potentially inhibit the peeling process. On the evening of Day 1, you can wash your face very gently using only water, and pat dry.

Or you can forego washing entirely. Around 15 minutes before bedtime use one of the post-peel towelettes (provided in the Home Kit) and vigorously apply it to your face. This will help to activate the peel solution further and is an essential part of the peeling process. It may mildly sting and irritate, but that is completely normal. Some discomfort and irritation is considered normal.

Remember, this is a medical chemical peel. If extreme, or you are at all concerned, please contact us at 780-929-9797 Avoid sun exposure, excessive sweating, saunas or heavy exercise during the peel process.

On Day 2, do not apply anything to your skin! Whilst it may be tempting, it will really affect your results. This also includes SPF. Follow the same procedure in the evening, using the post-peel towelette.

Generally today is peel day! When you’ll start to see the skin peel away in sheets! This is the hard part, you must not rub, pick or pull on the peeling skin, let the process occur naturally. At this stage, messing may result in scarring. Gently wash (don’t scrub) and pat dry the treated area morning and night, and apply The Perfect Peel Moisturiser as needed, supplied in the Home Kit. A sunscreen of at least SPF 30 should be applied every 2 hours in sun exposure.

The peeling process is generally complete, although some mild sloughing, flaking and redness may still be occurring in some treated areas. You can now resume your normal skin care products, unless otherwise advised by your medical professional. If the treated area becomes or remains irritates, wait until the sensitivity subsides. We always recommend prolonging and enhancing your results by using Medical grade skin care. We offer many options at MD spa. Continue to protect your skin with at least SPF 30 daily.
