lip fillers -1

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

These fillers provide a natural-looking increase in volume and can also help shape the lips. Brands in this category include Juvederm, Restylane, and Belotero. These fillers can smooth out wrinkles and lines, plump lips, and restore lost volume in the cheeks and under the eyes.

Who are they best for?

Hyaluronic acid fillers are suitable for a wide range of individuals looking to enhance the size and shape of their lips or reduce the appearance of lines around the mouth. They are particularly ideal for those trying lip fillers for the first time due to their temporary nature and the ability to control the volume of enhancement. People seeking subtle, natural-looking changes will find HA fillers fitting, as they can be administered gradually to achieve the desired outcome. As people age, lip volume decreases and hydration lessens; HA fillers effectively address these concerns, restoring both fullness and moisture.

Lastly, for individuals interested in exploring the benefits of lip fillers without a permanent commitment, HA fillers provide an excellent, temporary option that generally lasts from 6 to 12 months.

CALCIUM HYDROXYLAPATITE FILLERS

Calcium Hydroxylapatite fillers, such as Radiesse, are thicker than hyaluronic acid fillers and last longer. They are often used to fill deeper wrinkles and folds, enhance cheekbones, and restore volume loss in the facial area.

Who are they best for?

CaHA fillers are more robust compared to other fillers such as those made of hyaluronic acid. Due to their ability to stimulate collagen and their thicker consistency, they’re often used in areas with significant volume loss and deeper lines or wrinkles.

POLY-L-LACTIC ACID FILLERS

Poly-L-lactic Acid fillers, like Sculptra, are considered semi-permanent and are used to treat deeper facial wrinkles and to increase volume, particularly in the cheeks. Unlike other fillers, they work by stimulating your body’s collagen production.

Who are they best for?

Sculptra offers a unique advantage in the realm of aesthetic treatments with its ability to stimulate your body’s natural collagen production, leading to gradual and lasting enhancements. Its benefits extend to providing volume and lift, improving skin texture, and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Sculptra is particularly suited for individuals seeking long-term, natural-looking rejuvenation rather than immediate or drastic changes. It’s an excellent choice for those who value progressive improvements and are committed to a series of treatments for optimal, enduring results.

(PMMA) FILLERS

PMMA fillers, like Bellafill, are permanent cosmetic fillers that are most commonly used to treat deep wrinkles, folds, and furrows, particularly nasolabial folds. They can also be used for lip augmentation and to fill out pitted scars.

Who are they best for?

Those with acne scarring can appreciate the filler’s ability to smooth skin texture over time. Individuals with pronounced nasolabial folds, also known as smile lines, can also see significant improvements with Bellafill, resulting in a smoother, more youthful complexion. Additionally, anyone experiencing age-related volume loss in the face, particularly in the cheeks or under the eyes, could benefit from the long-lasting volumizing effects of Bellafill. This makes it an excellent choice for mature individuals seeking to restore lost volume for a more youthful appearance.

Lip Fillers and Lip Injections are one of the most requested procedures done at MD Spa

Non Invasive & Long Lasting Results

In Edmonton, lip injections stand as a sought-after artistry, desired by many and for good reason. The allure lies not just in the minimal downtime, nor the non-invasive nature of the procedure. Its charm is also found in the enduring results that grace your visage up to 18 months.

Pre-Treatment Routine

For optimal lip filler results and minimal downtime, preparation is key.  It’s recommended to discontinue any anti-inflammatory or blood-thinning medications like aspirin, ibuprofen and Advil for a period of two weeks before your treatment. Abstain from consumption of alcohol, tobacco, and caffeine for 48 hours pre-treatment to support the body’s healing process. Refrain from applying any lipstick, makeup, or balms on your lips for at least 24 hours leading up to the procedure to ensure a clean treatment area. Please inform our team about any history of cold sores to ensure the safest and most effective treatment strategy. These careful considerations will help shape your path to a successful lip enhancement journey.

Browse our FAQ to learn everything you need to know before your Hydrafacial treatment.

Injectable filler is a soft tissue filler injected into the skin at different depths to provide the face with volume, reduce scars, fine lines, wrinkles.

The most popular fillers are derived from hyaluronic acid (a natural substance occurring in the human skin) and they last several months.

The cosmetic filler is injected directly into the skin using a fine needle to reduce discomfort. Because our cosmetic filler is also available with pain-reducing lidocaine, the whole injection process is a more comfortable experience.

Cosmetic Filler is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects are mild to moderate and are relatively short-lasting (less than seven days). These may include temporary skin reactions such as redness, tenderness and bruising, which may be covered with light makeup.

No, none of the fillers used in our clinic requires any allergy skin tests.

The filler session is usually 30 minutes long.

All the fillers we use are safe and approved for use in Canada.

The price depends on the product and the size of the syringe and the number of syringes used. This will be discussed during your complimentary consultation.

This is a commonly asked question of many clients seeking help in our clinic. A detailed number of the syringes with the filler will be given to you during a consultation upon learning about your needs and examining your face.
