What Are Lip Fillers?
Lip fillers are injectable soft tissue fillers used to restore or enhance lip volume and contour. Most lip fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin that binds water and supports tissue structure. Over time, natural collagen, fat, and hyaluronic acid decrease, which can result in thinner lips, loss of definition along the vermillion border, and fine lines around the mouth.
Lip fillers can be used to increase overall fullness, define the lip border, balance asymmetry between the upper and lower lip, improve lip projection, and soften vertical lines often referred to as smoker’s lines. Treatment is customized based on lip anatomy, facial proportions, and individual aesthetic goals.
Lip Volume, Shape & Definition
Lip fillers are a non-surgical option for enhancing lip structure without permanent alteration. In addition to adding volume, fillers can refine lip shape, improve Cupid’s bow definition, correct unevenness, and restore volume lost with aging. Subtle enhancement or more noticeable volume can be achieved depending on the amount of filler used.
Results are visible immediately after treatment. Hyaluronic acid fillers are temporary and typically last several months, depending on the product selected and individual metabolism. Maintenance treatments are required to sustain results.
