Cosmetic Fillers

Injectable fillers used to restore facial volume and reduce wrinkles.

What Are Cosmetic Fillers?

Cosmetic fillers are injectable soft tissue fillers used to correct volume loss in the face that occurs with aging. As we age, we lose bone, fat, elastin, and collagen beneath the skin. This loss contributes to wrinkles, fine lines, folds, and hollow areas. Fillers are injected at different depths to restore lost volume, smooth lines, reduce certain scars, and enhance areas such as the lips and cheeks.

Fillers provide an immediate result and are used as a non-surgical option to restore facial structure and support areas affected by aging.

Cosmetic Filler Treatment & Options

An initial session includes a consultation with a Cosmetic Nurse or Physician to review medical history, previous cosmetic procedures, contraindications, expectations, and treatment goals. Before photographs are taken for reference. The selected filler is then carefully injected into the targeted areas using a fine needle. Most sessions last approximately 30 minutes. Mild temporary side effects such as redness, tenderness, or bruising may occur and typically resolve within several days. No allergy testing is required for the fillers used.

Common filler types include hyaluronic acid fillers (such as Juvederm, Restylane, and Belotero), calcium hydroxylapatite fillers (Radiesse), poly-L-lactic acid fillers (Sculptra), polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) fillers (Bellafill), and autologous fat injections. Hyaluronic acid fillers last several months, while other fillers may last longer depending on the product used.
